Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC)
Jointly set up by the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) and Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) in 1992, the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) is a non-profit self-help group for the Chinese community. CDAC is a non-profit self-help group for the Chinese community. They offer programmes and assistance schemes to help the less privileged in the community to maximize their potential and strive for social mobility through self-help and mutual support.
In 2016 alone, CDAC supported 19,000 households through its various programmes for students, workers, seniors, and families. CDAC is helping communities and running multiple services for people of China such as: Tuition Programme, School-based Customised Programme, Enrichment and Holiday Programmes, Project Excellence, A-Level Consultation, Reading Programmes, Youth Programmes, Project Aspirar, Youth Empowerment & Aspiration Programme (YEAP). Managing these services at once is a challenging task because of a requirement of lot many resources and capital.
